1) Sign this petition  to make animal cruelty a federal offense with a mandatory prison sentence.

2) Become a member of the Coalition for Animal Justice. It's free to sign up .

3) Write letters to government agencies and media personnel . Here is a sample letter you can use.

4) Write to police officers, judges and prosecutors in your area asking them for greater enforcement of the law in animal cruelty cases.

5) Report cases of animal cruelty that you witness and encourage your children to do the same. Insist that the police conduct a serious investigation of the crime and make an arrest.
