Animal Abuse And Cruelty The Public Needs To Know About
There are so many different types of animal cruelty and abuse in the world today. In some countries it's part of their everyday life and not considered cruel or horrible treatment to animals.
Fur trading is one of the biggest industries responsible for acts of unimaginable types of cruelty. Animals raised for their fur spend their entire lives in small wire cages stacked one on top of the other. They have no shelter from the summer heat or the freezing winter, and they die an inhumane death in the end. Other animals killed for their fur are captured in barbarous devices, such as traps, and suffer horribly. We can shut down the fur trade industry by not buying fur of any type, form or fashion.
Another act of animal cruelty is the unnecessary testing performed by pet food and pet health products companies, chemical companies, cosmetic companies and medical labs. Here are a few examples from each company:
Pet food and pet health companies- Gingivitis and gum disease is administered to healthy animals to test the preventative treatments. Flea sprays are administered 4-5 times the recommended amounts to see what harm they can do.
Chemical companies- Toxic chemicals are poured into animals' eyes and on their skin for the results of how much damage they can do. They are fed toxic chemicals in their food, and it's injected into their veins to test for dangers that are 100% obvious and are already warned about.
Cosmetic companies- Make up is tested on animals for negative reactions. Chemicals in permanent hair waving solutions are poured into the eyes and on the skin of animals.
Medical labs- tests are performed unnecessarily in research labs for things such as blindness and deafness. The animals' eyes are altered to see how they perform when blind. Their brains are altered in deafness testing to find out how the brain receives messages. Devices are implanted into their brains to see if they see color or if they can count. All of which are to satisfy our curiosity.
These tests are either unnecessary or have already been prformed over and over with the same results. They are not to be confused with animal testing when it is necessary to save and improve human lives.
You can find out information on Animal Testing by contacting the companies in question, searching the web, or by writing your consumer guide.
